Press release October 1, 2007 from Rederi AB Transatlantic (publ)

Transatlantic exercises vessel options

Through its 50/50‐owned company TransViking, Rederi AB Transatlantic has signed a final agreement with the Spanish shipyard Astilleros Zamakona for the construction of another two new AHTS vessels of 19,000 BHP each. The total investment for the two vessels amounts to about SEK 1.1 billion.

"With this order, we will increase our anchor‐handling fleet to a total of eight vessels. We will thereby become a significantly larger player in the offshore market, which is anticipated to develop positively in the next few years. This move is completely in line with our strategy for increased focus on arctic regions," says Transatlantic's President Håkan Larsson.

The vessels on order will be delivered in 2010‐2011. In December 2006, TransViking signed an order for two similar vessels. This project is progressing according to plan and delivery is scheduled for 2009‐2010.

For further information, please contact President Håkan Larsson or Stefan Eliasson, phone +46 (0)304 – 67 47 00.
