Elanders restructures and moves production from Östervåla

Elanders plans to move production from its unit in Östervåla. Current operations in Östervåla will be moved successively to other units in Elanders Sverige AB. More than half of the 31 employees in Östervåla can become redundant. The company starts negotiating today with representatives from the unions concerning the future of the employees.

Elanders began restructuring its Swedish companies more than a year ago, all of which will become part of Elanders Sverige AB.

"We are going to concentrate operations to the units we believe have the best capacity to meet market demands and where we already have the most modern and efficient equipment. Unfortunately this has affected the unit in Östervåla and some of our employees adversely. We regret this and will do our best to help them find new jobs," says Jimmy Lundbeck, business area manager at Infologistics.

Elanders Tofters has 63 employees. The unit in Östervåla employs 31 of them and primarily produces catalogues in offset.
