Alfa Laval recovers energy in South East Asia

Alfa Laval – a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling – has received two orders for heat exchangers to be used for energy recovery in a natural gas production facility in South East Asia. The total order value is approximately SEK 110 million and was booked late December 2007. Delivery will take place during 2008 and 2009.

The objective with the project is to increase the production capacity of natural gas and modernize the customer's facility. The Alfa Laval heat exchangers are to be used in the process where the natural gas is cleaned. During operation, the equipment will recover approximately 350 MW (mega watt) yearly. This saving corresponds to the annual energy consumption of about 120 000 households*.

"We are of course very pleased. These are the first large Oil & Gas orders for one year and together they confirm Alfa Laval's significant presence and leading position in the heat transfer technology", says Lars Renström, President and CEO of Alfa Laval. "This also shows the strength of our customized products in the energy segment, as customers focus on energy efficient solutions".
