Hexagon strengthens its American distribution network

Hexagon has acquired all outstanding shares in the American company Advanced Metrology Solutions (www.advancedmetrology.com).

Advanced Metrology Solutions is a leading distributor of precision metrology products in a nine-state territory, stretching from Michigan to Florida. The company is a leading Sheffield CMM products distributor. The company also sells other Hexagon brands including ROMER portable arm measuring systems, TESA precision hand tools and PC-DMIS software.

Excluding inter-company sales, Advanced Metrology Solutions will add approximately 30 MSEK to Hexagon annual sales. The company has shown solid growth over the last years and currently employs 19 people.

"This acquisition is part of Hexagon's global growth strategy of acquiring key distribution partners in key markets worldwide. In North America, it complements our multi-channel distribution strategy for Sheffield and ROMER products, which ensures a focused sales force concentrating on individual brands and product categories", says Ola Rollén, CEO and President of Hexagon AB.

Advanced Metrology Solutions will be fully consolidated as of 7 June 2008 and will immediately contribute to Hexagon's earnings.
