Transatlantic extends cooperation with Stora Enso and launches new scheduled service between Finland‐Germany‐Sweden

Transatlantic has signed an agreement with Stora Enso for seaborne transports from southern Finland to Germany and Sweden. From the end of 2008, Transatlantic will take over Stora Enso's service for the transport of forest products from southern Finland, with the shipping company deploying three RoRo vessels on the routes Kotka – Lübeck and Kotka – Gothenburg.

Since mid‐2006, both companies have cooperated on Stora Enso's logistics system for northern Europe, the NETSS system (North Europe Transport Supply System), in which Transatlantic has three container/RoRo vessels on long‐term contracts to Stora Enso for the transport of forest products from northern Finland to Gothenburg and Lübeck. Transatlantic also offers shipping possibilities on these vessels for other goods owners.

In conjunction with the launch of the new services, Transatlantic will also offer its other customers an efficient and frequent service for rolling goods, containers and project‐based loads between Kotka and Lübeck, with three departures per week in each direction, and between Kotka and Gothenburg, with six departures per month in each direction. Combined with the services for rolling and containerized goods between Göteborg/Lübeck and northern Finland, and the existing RoRo, container and bulk operations between Sweden and northern Europe and the UK, Transatlantic now offers one of the most complete seaborne transport systems in the Baltic Sea.

The new service will be operated from Transatlantic's offices in Gothenburg and Helsinki and from a newly opened office in Lübeck.
