ÅF signs a wide technical consulting contract with Øresundsbro Consortium

The Øresundsbro Consortium has signed a consulting agreement with ÅF relating to five of a total of six areas of technology. This means that ÅF will be "principal supplier" for technical consulting services for the Öresund Bridge between Malmö in Sweden and Copenhagen in Denmark.

The contract will run for 2 years with effect from 1 May 2009, with an option to extend.

Each year the Öresund Bridge utilises DKK 10 million (EUR 1.35 million) of its operating funds to purchase various types of technical consulting services, including those now to be supplied by ÅF.

The technical areas covered by the contract are Heating, Ventila tion, Air-conditioning & Sanitation, Electricity & Automation, Construction, Road and Rail. The projects vary, with some focusing exclusively on specific technology and others that require collaboration among several different specialist fields.

ÅF was the only consulting company that submitted a tender for all areas of technology. This is a clear indication of the breadth of ÅF's expertise and of the company's ability to supply services that cover virtually all areas of technology that are in demand from industry and the public sector.

ÅF already has another contract with the Øresundsbro Consortium for preventive and corrective maintenance for a number of the fixed link's electronic systems and technical installations: these include control and surveillance systems, networks, transmissions, telephony, radio, video and traffic management.
