Sweco has longstanding experience in studying, planning and implementing safe and efficiency underground storage facilities of hydrocarbons, a competency that is increasingly in demand around the world.
Above all, the clients come to us for our ability to contribute a cost−effective and eco−responsible focus in these technologically advanced projects, says Eva Nygren, President of Sweco Sweden.
India is pursuing a national strategic storage project in which a number of crude oil storage facilities will be built throughout the country with a total storage capacity of 5 million metric tons. The facility Sweco has been commissioned to plan is located in Padur on the west coast of India, in the Karnataka province.
The contract has been awarded by the state−owned Engineers India Ltd (EIL) and is worth approximately EUR 1 million in the first stage. Sweco will carry out the assignment in collaboration with Skanska Teknik and Midroc Enginering AB. Sweco is already involved in other similar projects in the country.
