Sweco's industrial consultants have been awarded two major assignments to manage and supervise the construction of new thermal power plants in Moscow and Sochi. Both projects are so called Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plants.
The thermal power plant in Sochi will produce more than 360 MW of electricity and the same amount of district heat. The plant will be constructed in connection with the preparation for the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014. Commissioning of the power plant is scheduled for August 2012.
The thermal power plant in Moscow will produce 220 MW of electricity and about 300 MW of district heat. Commissioning will take place in 2013.
Both contracts are so called Owner's Engineering work where Sweco's role is to be the client's engineering arm throughout the whole project.
