Towercom's national Digital Terrestrial TV distribution network in Slovakia is based on Net Insight's Nimbra platform and this order covers the further expansion of the network and implementation of new services. The media operator will now integrate IP data services into the same distribution network, so the Nimbra platform will facilitate seamless transport of both digital TV services as well as IP data services.
The Nimbra platform has several unique features for Digital Terrestrial TV and Mobile TV networks such as Time Transfer for GPS-free time synchronization. In addition, Nimbra offers a flexible and costeffective solution for delivering advanced multimedia services in media networks. TV operators deploying Digital Terrestrial TV based on the Nimbra platform not only get a DTT network but a multiservice transport infrastructure that opens up for new business opportunities.
