NCC Construction Sweden is to commence work on constructing a new radiation treatment clinic at the University Hospital in Lund. The client is Regionservice Skåne and the project will be implemented on a partnering basis. The order value is expected to amount to approximately SEK 250 million. Planning and preparations are now being made prior to the start of construction, which is scheduled for January 2011.
By year-end 2010, NCC and Regionservice will have prepared the final parameters for the project, including the production of construction documentation and a target price.
The new radiation treatment clinic, where NCC:s part is expected to be completed in the autumn 2012, will cover an area of 10,700 square meters over five floors, one of which will be a basement floor housing equipment and facilities for personnel.
The current cancer-treatment operations are to be expanded and linked to the new building that will include such facilities as a reception area, radiotherapy department and six new radiation treatment rooms.
Partnering is a structured form of cooperation whereby developers, consultants and contractors jointly solve construction assignments. The methods are based on transparent and honest cooperation allowing various areas of expertise to complement each other throughout the construction process.
The order is expected to be registered no earlier than the fourth quarter of 2010.
