ÅF has signed a consultancy assignment with Porvoon Energia for a new biomass fuelled power plant

ÅF has signed a consultancy contract with Porvoon Energia Oy – Borgå Energi Ab for a new CHP plant.

The assignment includes project management, design, procurement, as well as site and commissioning management services. The value of the contract for ÅF is about 3 million euros.

Porvoon Energia will build a new biomass fuelled CHP at the Tolkkinen Power Plant site in Finland. Output of the power plant will be c. 12 MW power and c. 38 MW heat. After completion of the project, almost all power and heat generated by Porvoon Energia, will be based on biofuels. The project starts immediately and commercial operation starts in February 2013.
