Appointment of Executive Director

In accordance with paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, Thungela hereby notifies shareholders of the formal appointment of Mr. Moses Madondo, the Company's Chief Executive Officer ("CEO") Designate, as Executive Director, effective 5 September 2025.

As announced on 21 January 2025, Mr. Madondo was appointed as CEO Designate with effect from 1 August 2025, following a rigorous selection process. His appointment to the Board marks the next step in the planned leadership transition and further supports his integration into the executive leadership of the Company ahead of assuming the role of CEO.
