Publication of the 2024 annual financial statements
LIBERO football finance AG announces the publication of its 2024 annual financial statements:
- LIBERO football finance AG closed the 2024 financial year with a net loss of EUR 783 thousand.
- LIBERO football finance AG announces that the auditor has refused to issue an audit opinion on the annual financial statements and management report for the 2024 financial year, as was already the case for the 2023 annual financial statements (see announcement dated January 30, 2025). The annual financial statements were approved by the Supervisory Board on August 14, 2025, and are therefore adopted.
- As with the refusal to issue an audit opinion for the 2023 annual financial statements, the refusal to issue an audit opinion for the 2024 annual financial statements is due to the ongoing legal proceedings in Spain in connection with the strategic partnership with FC Barcelona planned for 2023. The Company reported on the legal proceedings and related developments most recently in a press release dated July 1, 2025. As previously reported by the Company, a positive agreement and partial settlement for a partial amount of approximately EUR 25 million has already been reached in the legal proceedings. With regard to the outstanding portion of the transaction amounting to approximately EUR 15 million, the company was and remains in discussions with FC Barcelona with the aim of settling this outstanding portion of the legal proceedings. The Management Board currently expects that a final agreement will be reached in 2025.
- For the current 2025 financial year, the company will continue to pursue its realigned corporate strategy as an international specialist and innovator in the development of a marketplace for football financing and other services for football clubs, as well as an investor in football companies, with the aim of achieving a sustainable increase in the value of the company and thus economic success. The Management Board believes that the company is well positioned to achieve this and is confident about the future development of the company.
- The 2024 annual financial statements will be available for download on the company’s website at approximately 9:00 a.m.
