Bank of Cyprus Holdings Public Limited Company (the 'BOC Holdings'), and Bank of Cyprus Public Company Limited (the 'Bank') announce that on 6 August 2025 the European Central Bank approved the appointment of Mr. Georgios Syrichas as an independent, non-executive member of the Board of Directors of the Bank. The appointment is also effective for the Board of Directors of BOC Holdings.

Dr. Syrichas is a leading economist with strong academic knowledge and expertise in macroeconomics and banking. He collaborated extensively with the University of Cyprus and conducted significant research in Applied Economic Policy.

Dr. Syrichas held positions of significant responsibility within the Central Bank of Cyprus, which include Director of Economic Analysis and Research from 2006 to 2008 and Senior Director of Economic and Monetary Analysis and Research from 2008 to 2013. He was also an Executive Director and board member of the Central Bank of Cyprus and the Cyprus Resolution Authority from 2013 to 2018.

Dr. Syrichas has served as the Vice-Chairman of the Cyprus Economy and Competitiveness Council since 2024 and as a Non-executive Director and Chair of the Board Risk Committee at Agri Europe Banking Group since 2023, where he also held the roles of Chief Risk Officer and board member. He is also an Economic Advisor at the Economics Research Centre in the University of Cyprus. Dr. Syrichas has a PhD and an MA in Economics from the University of Essex and a BSc in Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business.
