The Kingfish Company announces CEO retirement effective year-end

Kats, Netherlands - August 12, 2025 -The Kingfish Company (Euronext: KING) today announced that Chief Executive Officer Vincent Erenst has decided to retire and will step down from his position at the end of 2025.

Since his appointment as CEO in 2023, Mr. Erenst has driven a phase of significant expansion, establishing The Kingfish Company as the clear in RAS technology and sustainable yellowtail kingfish production, and capturing market leadership across all major regions it serves.

"After three years at the helm of The Kingfish Company, I believe the time is right for me to pass the baton to new leadership," said Vincent Erenst. "It has been a privilege to work alongside such a talented and dedicated team, and I am confident that the company is well-positioned for continued success."

The Board of Directors has initiated a search process for a new CEO and is committed to ensuring a smooth transition.

Jeroen Scheelbeek, Chair of the Board, said: "On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Vincent for his leadership and commitment to The Kingfish Company. He has been instrumental in shaping our strategy and driving our expansion, and we wish him every success in the next chapter of his life."

Mr. Erenst will remain in his role until 31 December 2025 to ensure business continuity and support the transition process.

About The Kingfish Company

The Kingfish Company is a pioneer and leader in sustainable land-based aquaculture. Current annual production capacity at its Kingfish Zeeland facility in the Netherlands is 4,000 tons of highvalue yellowtail kingfish. Next expansion opportunities are in the US. Kingfish Maine is fully permitted by local, state, and federal regulatory agencies to build an 8,500 tons production facility.

Production is based on advanced recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), which protect biodiversity and ensure biosecurity. Animal welfare is paramount, and the fish is grown without use of antibiotics and vaccines. Operations run on 100 percent renewable electricity, sourced from wind, solar and biogas. The Company's facilities operate on sea water, avoiding wasting precious fresh water.

The Kingfish Company's main product, the Yellowtail Kingfish (also known as ricciola/hiramass/greater amberjack) is a highly versatile premium fish species, well known in the Italian and Asian fusion cuisines. Its products are certified and approved as sustainable and environmentally friendly by Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP), GLOBAL G.A.P. and Friend of the Sea.
