ÅF acquires fast-growing company within infrastructure planning

As of 1 June 2015, ÅF is acquiring all the shares in EQC Group. The merger strengthens ÅF's customer offering within infrastructure and consolidates operations at a local level in several locations across Sweden.

"ÅF's infrastructure planning operations have seen significant growth in recent years. ÅF has a total of 7,700 highly qualified employees and with the acquisition of EQC, ÅF will have more than 2,300 consultants working on the infrastructure of tomorrow," says Mats Påhlsson, Head of ÅF's Infrastructure Division.

EQC has enjoyed strong growth since its establishment in January 2011, and the company's sales in 2014 totalled approximately SEK 180 million, with healthy profitability. The company now has just over 180 employees in 14 locations in Sweden and Norway. EQC provides comprehensive infrastructure services as part of large and medium-sized projects within roads and railways. Furthermore, EQC offers services within electrical power, automation and mechanical engineering to industrial clients via the subsidiary EQC Engineering.

"A merger between ÅF and EQC offers clear advantages. The move strengthens our joint competence base and improves our ability to meet the growing demand for technical consulting services in infrastructure projects," says Magnus Trollius at EQC.

EQC's operations will in the main be part of the Infrastructure Division. EQC Engineering, with 16 employees, will be part of the Industry Division, under the management of Per Magnusson.
