# **INTERMARINE (GRUPPO IMMSI): CONSEGNATA A SNAV "***SNAV POLARIS"***, LA NUOVA UNITÀ VELOCE PER IL GOLFO DI NAPOLI, GIOIELLO DI TECNOLOGIA E COMFORT A RIDOTTO IMPATTO AMBIENTALE**

*Napoli-Sarzana, 06 agosto 2025* – **Intermarine S.p.A. (società controllata dal Gruppo industriale Immsi – IMS.MI**) **ha consegnato** alla società di navigazione **SNAV** (**Gruppo MSC**) **la nuova SNAV POLARIS, unità High Speed Craft (HSC)** di ultimissima generazione a ridotto impatto ambientale che potenzierà i collegamenti marittimi nel Golfo di Napoli.

Progettata dal centro di ricerca Intermarine di Messina, **SNAV POLARIS**, della lunghezza di 58,20 metri come la gemella SNAV SIRIUS, già consegnata a luglio dello scorso anno, racchiude il meglio dell'ingegneria navale italiana, frutto di anni di studio e dell'applicazione di tecnologie industriali di avanguardia. Pensata per offrire un'esperienza di viaggio all'insegna del comfort e della sicurezza, SNAV POLARIS è un concentrato di modernità che guarda al futuro del trasporto marittimo, rappresentando un modello di innovazione, efficienza e sostenibilità.

La riduzione dell'impatto ambientale, unitamente al miglioramento dei servizi per il cliente sono da sempre obiettivi importanti per SNAV e il Gruppo MSC. Con SNAV POLARIS, la Società, oltre a garantire un significativo incremento dei servizi per i cittadini e turisti che ogni anno visitano il Golfo di Napoli, conferma il proprio impegno al progressivo azzeramento delle emissioni di anidride carbonica, espressione concreta dell'attenzione del Gruppo alle importanti tematiche ambientali, per un futuro più sostenibile e pulito.

**Intermarine, con la consegna della seconda unità High Speed Craft, conferma la sua posizione di rilievo nel settore delle costruzioni navali ad alto contenuto tecnologico e a basso impatto ambientale.** Il progetto che ha visto nascere SNAV SIRIUS e SNAV POLARIS si fonda sulla sinergia di due Aziende che hanno deciso di portare sul mare innovazione, tecnologia, comfort e sicurezza. Un percorso tecnicamente complesso, che oggi, con la consegna di SNAV POLARIS, con orgoglio vede le due Aziende navigare verso il futuro, migliorando l'esperienza di viaggio e al contempo salvaguardando le bellezze dei nostri mari. Particolare attenzione inoltre viene data alle persone a mobilità ridotta essendo le due unità già conformi alle ultime norme "PMR" delle circolari del Ministero.

SNAV POLARIS è quindi la nuova conferma dell'impegno di Intermarine a proseguire nel segmento del trasporto passeggeri segnando un importante risultato per il territorio di Messina, continuando a contribuire così allo sviluppo del tessuto economico-sociale del Mezzogiorno.

### *Caratteristiche principali dell'unità navale:*

La nave, realizzata con le più moderne tecniche costruttive e frutto del centro di ricerca Intermarine di Messina, rappresenta il più elevato standard in termini di tecnologia, design e sicurezza. SNAV POLARIS, come SNAV SIRIUS, si conferma un punto di riferimento nel settore del trasporto marittimo dove comfort, prestazioni e sicurezza puntano ai più alti livelli qualitativi.

L'unità, realizzata completamente in alluminio leggero come la gemella SNAV SIRIUS che da un anno è già in servizio nel Golfo di Napoli, è equipaggiata con un sistema propulsivo costituito da 4 motori e 3 generatori omologati IMO III (Marpol Convention) a controllo elettronico della combustione, completi di sistema SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) per la sensibile riduzione delle emissioni. Gli stessi motori e generatori possono essere alimentati anche con bio-carburante, il cui utilizzo contribuisce a ridurre fino ad un massimo del 90% le emissioni di CO2 (Well to Wake). Inoltre, è munita di presa di banchina "Cold ironing" per l'alimentazione elettrica da terra, ed è predisposta per accogliere un impianto di propulsione ibrido per effettuare manovre a zero emissioni in entrata e uscita dai porti. La propulsione è garantita da 4 idrogetti tipo Kongsberg Kamewa 71S4, controllati da un sistema di controllo remoto di tipo elettronico, che consentono di ridurre sensibilmente la rumorosità in acqua e in aria e migliorare la manovrabilità dell'unità. Per ottenere un miglioramento idrodinamico in termini di velocità e consumi l'imbarcazione è dotata di un impianto di stabilzzazione costituito da 4 pinne stabilizzatrici e da un impianto di tipo "interceptors" per correggere l'assetto longitudinale in funzione delle possibili condizioni di carico.

SNAV, Società Navigazione Alta Velocità, fa parte del Gruppo MSC ed effettua collegamenti marittimi in Italia e verso la Croazia. La flotta SNAV è composta da unità veloci HSC, aliscafi e catamarani, e navi traghetto ro-ro. La Compagnia assicura collegamenti marittimi veloci tra Napoli e le isole del Golfo (Capri, Ischia Procida), Positano, Castellammare di Stabia con Sorrento, le isole Eolie (Stromboli, Panarea, Salina, Lipari e Vulcano), le Isole Pontine (Ponza e Ventotene), Ancona e Spalato in Croazia con nave traghetto.

# **INTERMARINE (IMMSI GROUP) DELIVERS "***SNAV POLARIS***", THE NEW HIGH-SPEED FERRY FOR THE GULF OF NAPLES, A MASTERPIECE OF TECHNOLOGY AND COMFORT WITH A REDUCED ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT**

*Naples-Sarzana, 6 August 2025* – **Intermarine S.p.A. (a subsidiary of the Immsi industrial group – IMS.MI) has delivered the new High-Speed Craft (HSC) SNAV POLARIS** to **SNAV** shipping company (**MSC Group**). A latest-generation ferry with a low environmental impact, the SNAV POLARIS will be used to increase crossings in the Gulf of Naples.

Designed by the Intermarine research centre in Messina, with a length of 58.20 metres like its sister SNAV SIRIUS, which was delivered in July last year, the **SNAV POLARIS** embodies the best of Italian naval engineering as the result of years of research and application of cutting-edge industrial technologies. Designed to offer a safe and comfortable travel experience, the SNAV POLARIS is an example of forward-thinking modernity in maritime transport, a model of innovation, efficiency and sustainability.

Reducing environmental impact and improving customer services have always been important goals for SNAV and the MSC Group. With the SNAV POLARIS, the company not only guarantees a significant increase in services for both residents and the tourists who visit the Gulf of Naples every year, but also confirms its commitment to the progressive elimination of carbon emissions as a tangible expression of the Group's attention to critical environmental issues for a more sustainable and green future.

**With the delivery of the second High-Speed Craft, Intermarine confirms its leadership in the construction of hi-tech, low environmental impact vessels.** The project for the construction of the SNAV SIRIUS and the SNAV POLARIS exploits the synergy between two companies that have decided to bring innovation, technology, comfort and safety to maritime transport. A technically complex development, which, with today's delivery of the SNAV POLARIS, sees the two companies proudly projecting themselves into the future, improving the travel experience and safeguarding the beauty of Italian seas. Special attention was also paid to the needs of people with reduced mobility, as both ferries comply with the Ministry's latest "PRM" standards and regulations.

The SNAV POLARIS is a renewed confirmation of Intermarine's intention to maintain its presence in the passenger ferry segment, an important achievement for the Messina area, where it continues to contribute to the socio-economic growth of Southern Italy.

## *Vessel characteristics:*

A product of the Intermarine research centre in Messina and built with the latest construction techniques, the SNAV POLARIS represents the cutting edge in technology, design and safety. Like the SNAV SIRIUS, it is a benchmark in marine transport, delivering the highest quality in comfort, performance and safety.

Built entirely in lightweight aluminium like its sister SNAV SIRIUS, which has already been in service in the Gulf of Naples for a year, the SNAV POLARIS is equipped with a propulsion system consisting of 4 engines and 3 IMO III type-approved generators (Marpol Convention) for electronic combustion control, fitted with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system for significant emissions reduction. The engines and the generators can also be powered with biofuel, whose use contributes to a wellto-wake carbon emissions reduction of up to 90%. The boat also features a cold ironing dock socket for shore-to-ship energy supply, and can accommodate a hybrid propulsion system for zero-emission port entry and exit manoeuvres. It is propelled by 4 Kongsberg Kamewa 71S4 hydro jets with a remote electronic control system, which ensure a significant reduction in noise levels both in the water and in the air and improved manoeuvrability. For optimal hydrodynamics in terms of speed and fuel consumption, the SNAV POLARIS is equipped with a 4-fin stabilisation system and an interceptor system for trim correction in relation to loading conditions.
