NCC and Region Örebro County build new county hospital

Region Örebro County is continuing its investment in highly specialized care and has commissioned NCC to construct a new county hospital in Örebro. The project will take the form of a partnering project.

The new building, the Hbuilding, will replace existing premisesthat no longer meet current requirements.

The Hbuilding willcontain residentialcare, outpatient care and surgery for areasincluding ear, nose and throat (ENT), dermatology, anesthesia and emergency care clinics. It will be a challenge to build the new hospital with aslittle impact as possible on ongoing operations at the existing hospital.

The project willcomprise both new construction and refurbishment work. The old hospital and the new Hbuilding will have a shared entrance and the emergency unit will also be refurbished. The new building will be constructed according to Sweden Green Building Council (SGBC) Gold and much focus will be devoted to energy efficiency.

NCCand Region Örebro County will run the project in partnership, and the first steps are preparing the project organization, project planning, construction documents and the budget. The total order value is estimated at SEK1 billion. The order is expected to be registered in the first quarter of 2016 in the new NCCBuilding business area.
