Michael Kors is planning to open a store in one of Hufvudstaden's properties – on the corner of Fredsgatan and Södra Hamngatan in central Gothenburg – in 2016. It was in 2013 that Michael Kors opened its first Swedish store, located in a Hufvudstaden property in Stockholm. This will be the first Michael Kors store in Gothenburg.
"This establishment by Michael Kors is fully in line with Hufvudstaden's development strategy for the area around Fredsgatan. The store will strengthen the position of the area as one of Gothenburg's most attractive shopping destinations." says Ivo Stopner, President of Hufvudstaden.
Hufvudstaden aims to offer successful retail and office tenants premier business locations in the Gothenburg and Stockholm city centres. A Michael Kors store in a prime location represents a critical success factor in the development of an attractive, high-end retail sector in the centre of Gothenburg.
