NCC sells development rights in Limhamn, Malmö, Sweden

NCC is selling part of the urban-development area Limhamns läge in Malmö to MKB Fastighets AB for SEK 254 million. The transaction includes approximately 550 development rights.

"This sale is in line with our strategy as a society builder to construct diverse residential areas at a fast pace. The transaction includes slightly more than one-third of the development rights that NCC has created in Limhamn," says Joachim Hallengren, Business Area Manager, NCC Housing.

Limhamns läge is located in one of the largest residential development areas in Malmö that links Limhamn to Öresund in a new and vibrant residential area on classic industrial land.

"The acquisition of 550 building rights in Limhamn is a welcome addition of land," says Terje Johansson, President of MKB Fastighets AB.

The transformation of the old cement factory is fully underway. Once the area has been completely finished, Limhamns läge will contain about 1,500 new housing units. Schools, preschools, shops and a city district park will be constructed in addition to housing units with various forms of tenure.

The transaction will be recognized as income for the NCC Housing business area in the fourth quarter of 2015.
