Wihlborgs extends Helsingborg District Court

Wihlborgs is building a 4,000 m2 extension to Helsingborg District Court and, in parallel, is also refurbishing 5,000 m2 of the existing premises.

The District Court's existing premises are in the Polisen 4 property on Carl Krooks Gata in central Helsingborg. The extension is being constructed adjoining the existing structure.

"Naturally, we are extremely pleased to continue our long-term partnership with Helsingborg District Court. Moreover, we are contributing to the city's development by creating a square with attractive retail locations between the new building and Malmöleden," says Anders Jarl, CEO of Wihlborgs Fastigheter.

"We moved in to our current building in 2005 — more than a decade ago. We have outgrown our premises, and need more office space and court rooms," says the Head of the District Court, Chief Judge Ylva Norling Jönsson.

The new extension and the refurbishment will be ready in spring 2019 and the government has already approved a 20-year lease for the premises. The investment is estimated at SEK 180 million and the yield at 6 percent.

The project contractor is Peab, which was awarded the contract following a public procurement process. Construction will start shortly.
