6 Temmuz 2020 tarihli KAP açıklamamızda belirttiğimiz üzere, Şişecam, yenilikçi, esnek ve piyasanın ihtiyaçlarına büyük bir hız ve çeviklikle cevap verebilen ARGE kabiliyeti ve ürün geliştirme yetkinliğiyle, sürdürülebilirlik stratejisi doğrultusunda cam yüzeylerdeki virüs ve bakterileri etkisiz hale getiren yüzde yüz yerli özel bir kaplama teknolojisi geliştirmiştir. Şişecam'ın Antimikrobiyal V-Block Teknolojisi üzerinde Sağlık Bakanlığı'nca yetki verilen Türkiye'deki laboratuvarlar tarafından gerçekleştirilen testler, teknolojinin koronavirüs dahil aşağıda listelenmiş olan mikroorganizmalarda etkin olduğu onayıyla*, başarıyla tamamlanmış, ruhsatlandırma ile uygulama ve satış faaliyetlerine ilişkin resmi onay süreçleri 15 Aralık 2020 tarihi itibariyle sonlandırılmıştır. Antimikrobiyal V-Block Teknolojisi öncelikle içecek ve masaüstü ürün grubunda yer alan seçili cam ev eşyası ürünlerinde kullanılacak olup, 2021 yılbaşı itibariyle seri üretime başlanması, ilk aşamada, toplam cam ev eşyası üretim kapasitesinin %10'unun V-Block Teknolojisi uygulanmış ürünlerin üretimine ayrılması planlanmıştır. Başlangıç olarak, V-Block Teknolojisi uygulanmış cam ev eşyası ürünleri Türkiye iç pazarında, perakende satış noktalarına ek olarak ikram (otel-restoran-kafe) ve B2B satış kanalları üzerinden satışa sunulacaktır. V-Block Teknolojisi uygulanmış ürünlerin, başta Bulgaristan olmak üzere cam ev eşyası iş kolumuzun yurtdışı tesislerinde üretilmeleri olanağı da değerlendirilmekte olup, ilgili yasal süreçlerin tamamlanmasının ardından üretildiği bölge içinde ve/veya dışındaki coğrafyalarda satışa sunulacaktır. Önümüzdeki dönemde bu teknolojinin diğer cam üretimi odaklı işkollarına da uygulanması ve yasal izin süreçlerinin yürütülmesinin ardından pazara sunulması planlanmaktadır. Bahsi geçen teknolojiye ve uygulama sistemine dair yapılan patent başvuruları 3 Temmuz 2020 itibariyle yapılmıştır.

As it was previously disclosed on 6 July 2020, Şişecam has developed a 100% domestic special coating technology that neutralizes viruses and bacteria on glass surfaces, with its innovative, flexible and agile R&D capabilities and product development competency, which can satisfy the market needs at a great speed towards its sustainability strategy. Tests performed on Şişecam's Antimicrobial V-Block Technology, by the laboratories located in Turkey and authorized by the Ministry of Health and, have been successfully completed. The technology has been identified as effective against the microorganisms listed below including coronavirus*, and official registration and permit processes for the production and sales of the products with V-Block Technology have been finalized as of 15 December 2020. Antimicrobial V-Block Technology will primarily be applied on a selected group of beverage and tableware business line products and mass production phase will be started in the beginning of 2021. In the first phase, 10% of the total glassware business segment production capacity is planned to be allocated. V-Block Technology applied glassware products will begin to be sold at retail sale points and through Horeca (hotel-restaurant-café) and B2B channels in our domestic market. The possibility to manufacture products with V-Block Technology in Glassware facilities located outside Turkey, initially in our Bulgaria plant, is also evaluated. Sale of those products in the region where they are produced and/or outside geographies will be planned following the completion of relevant legal processes. For the upcoming period, there are further plans to apply the technology to other glass production-oriented businesses lines and to launch V-Block Technology applied products upon the granting of legal permits. Patent application related to V-Block Technology and application method has been made on 3 July 2020.
