Re: A Claim and a Motion to Certify the Claim as a Class Action Against The Phoenix Insurance Company Ltd. and The Phoenix Pension & Provident Fund Ltd. (subsidiaries) The Company announce that a lawsuit has been filed against the Company's subsidiaries, The Phoenix Insurance Company Ltd. and The Phoenix Pension and Provident Fund Ltd. (The "Phoenix") and against the Direct Financing Company of the Direct Group (2006) Ltd. ("Direct Financing") and against two additional credit companies (hereafter together: "the Defendants"), alongside with a request for approval it as a class action, in the Central District Court (hereafter together: "the Claim").The subject of the Claim is that, as part of the enforcement procedures taken by the Defendants to collect debt for loans from credit companies that were taken out by borrowers (such as the plaintiff) and against which the borrowers would pawn their vehicles, unreasonable expenses were imposed on the borrowers. In relation to Phoenix, the claim relates to loan agreements granted by Direct Financing and which were assigned to Phoenix, while their management remains in the hands of Direct Financing.The plaintiff stated that the damage estimated by him to all the members of the group, in relation to all the Defendants, is over NIS 2.5 million, while in relation to some of the members of the group, the alleged damage attributed to Direct Financing and Phoenix is ??about NIS 17.95 million.At this stage, Phoenix is ??studying the details of the Claim and the extent of its liability, and therefore the chances of its approval as a class action cannot be estimated, and if it is approved, its chances of success cannot be estimated. false
