Three bidders, Framatome, TVEL and Westinghouse, participated inthe tender launched in April 2020. Due to diversification, two supplierswere finally selected so that CEZ Group could reliably ensure acontinuous supply of fuel cells for the Temel_#237;n Nuclear Power Plant'sreactors in the future, thus minimizing the risks of a possible supplyoutage.
Both winning companies are world leaders in the nuclear powerindustry. Westinghouse, with a manufacturing plant in Sweden, hasalready supplied fuel assemblies to Temel_#237;n for ten years after itscommissioning. Framatome is the only manufacturer based in the EuropeanUnion that supplies fuel assemblies to most Western European nuclearpower plants.
Westinghouse Electric Company has more than 60 years of nuclearpower experience worldwide.
