Veidekke: Building more homes in Vestby for Nåbo

Veidekke: Building more homes in Vestby for Nåbo

Nåbo AS has commissioned Veidekke to build the second phase of its Gartneritaket

housing project in Vestby. This design and build contract that will see 131

apartments built is worth a total of approximately NOK 230 million excluding

VAT.

"We are so grateful to Nåbo for this commission and are looking forward to

getting started on construction works after the summer. Veidekke delivered the

first phase of the project, so we now know just what it takes to build good and

varied homes for people who want to live well in a green setting," says Jørn

Haugerud, General Manager of Veidekke Bygg Østfold Follo.

Gartneritaket is one of the biggest housing projects in Vestby. Its location is

very central, meaning that areas for outdoor pursuits, schools, kindergartens,

the Vestby Storsenter mall and the railway station are all on the doorstep. The

apartments included in the second phase of construction range from one to four

rooms in size and will have areas of 25-93 m2. The basement will offer parking

for cars and bicycles, while the roof garden will serve as a meeting place for

residents featuring a heated conservatory with kitchen facilities and a communal

table. Parklets including fruit trees on both the roof and behind the building

will help to bolster the living environment.

"This is a major part of our efforts to meet the demand for new, sustainable and

accessible homes in the Oslo region. Veidekke delivered the first phase at a

very high quality both in technical and implementation terms. As such, opting to

continue our collaboration was the natural choice. We look forward to building

further on our strong partnership and working together to create a new, vibrant

neighbourhood in Vestby," says Nåbo's Christian Berg, Regional Manager for Oslo.

Construction will begin in September with completion scheduled for the first

half of 2027. The contract is included in Veidekke's order book for Q2 2025.
