Regulatory Approval of Non-Executive Director – Dr Christian Bonnici West

Reference is made to Company Announcement 481 issued on 31 May 2024 whereby Bank of Valletta plc (the 'Bank') informed the market that Dr Christian Bonnici West was appointed as Non-Executive Director of the Bank at its Annual General Meeting held on 31 May 2024. Dr Bonnici West's appointment was subject to regulatory approval.

The Bank hereby announces that regulatory approval has now been received for the appointment of Dr Christian Bonnici West as Director of the Bank.

Dr Christian Bonnici West is a Resident Academic within the Insurance and Risk Management Department, Faculty of Economics, Management, and Accountancy, University of Malta. Dr Bonnici West has interdisciplinary research interests revolving around the notions of consent, privacy, fintech, insurtech, surveillance as well as digital rights management. He has also been involved in the design and delivery of educational training materials which cover both fundamental information as well as security and compliance concepts/principles, at both Masters and Bachelor level.

Over the past years, Dr Bonnici West has gained professional experience in various aspects of Information Security and Privacy Management, including as an Information Security, Compliance and Risk Manager on a national Public Key Infrastructure project; an external contractor responsible for IT Compliance within the pharmaceutical industry, as a consultant and auditor within one of the Big 4 firms as well as a representative on the Maltese National Cyber Security Steering Committee.

Dr Christian Bonnici West obtained his Ph.D. and MSc Degree in Information Security from the Information Security Group, Royal Holloway, University of London, and a BSc (Hons.) Degree in Computing and Information Systems from Goldsmiths College, University of London.

There are no matters concerning Dr Christian Bonnici West that require disclosure under the Capital Markets Rules.
