Appointment of Chief Information Officer

The Bank hereby announces the appointment of Mr Bjorn Ekstedt as Chief Information Officer (CIO). Regulatory approval for Mr Ekstedt has been obtained.

As CIO, Mr Ekstedt will contribute to support the delivery and shaping of the Bank of Valletta (BOV) three-year growth strategy, whilst delivering significant changes in the structure, culture and operational methods of the IT department to be more customer centred.

Mr Ekstedt's residential address is Waterside, 6A, Annunciation Street, Sliema.

Mr Ekstedt had a distinguished career in the Swedish Air Force and was the Armed Forces Chief Controller and Head of Strategic Management before he pursued his IT career in 2007. Mr Ekstedt occupied various positions in major European companies where he served as Vice President IT in roles such as Director Enterprise Architecture, Director IT Operations and Business Group CIO. He also occupied Group CIO positions and formed part of the Executive Team in several large international corporations. Prior to joining BOV, he was an Executive Advisor for large corporations and IT Suppliers in the Nordics.

Mr Ekstedt holds an MBA from Warwick Business School, UK and an MSc from Linkoping Institute of Technology, Sweden.

There are no matters concerning Mr Ekstedt that require disclosure under the Capital Markets Rules.
