Performance of the Telekom Slovenije Group during the nine months of 2017

Pursuant to the first paragraph of Article 17 of Regulation (EU) No 596/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 April 2014 on market abuse (market abuse regulation) and repealing Directive 2003/6/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and Commission Directives 2003/124/EC, 2003/125/EC and 2004/72/EC, Article 136 of the Financial Instruments Market Act (ZTFI), the Ljubljana Stock Exchange Rules and valid legislation, Telekom Slovenije, d. d., Cigaletova 15, Ljubljana, hereby publishes the following announcement:

At its 6th ordinary session held on Wednesday, 25 October 2017, the Supervisory Board of Telekom Slovenije, d. d. discussed the Unaudited Business Report of the Telekom Slovenije Group and Telekom Slovenije, d. d. for the period January – September 2017.

The Telekom Slovenije Group generated net sales revenue of EUR 542.1 million over the first nine months of the year, representing an increase of 4% relative to the same period last year. Net sales revenue was higher primarily due to higher revenues from IT services and higher revenues on the wholesale market. At the same time, the Telekom Slovenije Group recorded a 7% increase in the number of fixed broadband connections relative to the end of 2016. The Telekom Slovenije Group generated total operating revenues of EUR 546.7 million over the first nine months of the year, an increase of 3% relative to the same period last year.

The Telekom Slovenije Group generated EBITDA of EUR 154.2 million over the same period, a decrease of 2% relative to the first nine months of last year. As a result, the Telekom Slovenije Group generated a net profit of EUR 30.1 million, an increase of EUR 6 million or 25% on the same period last year.

Telekom Slovenije, d. d. generated net sales revenue of EUR 489.9 million, an increase of 3% relative to the same period last year. Telekom Slovenije, d. d. generated total operating revenues of EUR 493.1 million, which was likewise an increase of 3% on the same period last year. Telekom Slovenije, d. d. generated a net profit of EUR 33.2 million over the first nine months of this year, an increase of 7% relative to the same period last year.

The Telekom Slovenije Group earmarked a total of EUR 90.2 million for investments over the first nine months of this year, with Telekom Slovenije, d. d. accounting for EUR 79.4 million of that amount. The majority of investments were made in the expansion of the fibre optic access network, which will provide users high-speed internet access and a superior user experience in terms of broadband content, and in the further modernisation of the mobile network and the development of new services. Telekom Slovenije, d. d. has recorded a 4% increase in the number of fixed broadband connections this year relative to the end of 2016, and has thus made an important step forward in terms of the continued development of the mobile network. Telekom Slovenije, d. d. began upgrading the fourth generation mobile network (which already covers more than 98% of the population) with 4G+ technology this year, making even higher data transfer speeds available to its users, together with quicker and even more reliable access to the mobile internet. More than 35% of the population is currently covered by 4G+ technology, while that proportion will rise even further in the future.
