COPENHAGEN – September 7th, 2023 - 5th Planet Games A/S (OAX: 5PG) 5th Planet Games today proudly announces the close of its majority co-investment deal in partnership with Skybound Entertainment, to acquire Sagafilm ehf, the renowned Nordic production company. This collaboration combines the forces of each enterprise, enhancing possibilities to bring Sagafilm Film and TV content into the 5PG catalogue, ensuring audiences receive top-tier content across a growing range of media.

With this acquisition, 5PG welcomes Sagafilm's diverse collection of gripping content, from hit shows like The Minister to Operation Napoleon. Sagafilm's longstanding presence in Iceland's production scene, known for its compelling storytelling and top-quality production, further amplifies 5PG and Skybound's catalogue and capabilities.

BetaFilm Nordics retains its position as a minority shareholder, underscoring a unified vision for Sagafilm's prosperous future. Sagafilm's seasoned leadership, including Kjartan Thor Thordarson and Ragnar Bjorn Agnarsson, will stay at the helm, steering the company's strategic course.

Furthering their commitment, Skybound and 5PG introduce Tjorvi Thorsson as Sagafilm Iceland's new CEO. His vast industry experience is pivotal for the company's onward journey. Moreover, Thordarson, Agnarsson, and Thorsson, pivotal to this acquisition, join as partners in both Skybound Entertainment and 5PG, affirming their central roles in this newfound alliance.
