Zug, May 22, 2025 – LION E-Mobility AG (LION; ISIN: CH0560888270), a leading manufacturer of battery packs for electric mobility and energy storage solutions, announces that its subsidiary LION Smart GmbH has been commissioned by a leading European premium OEM from the commercial vehicle sector to conduct a feasibility study for a fast-charging battery system for electric trucks . The aim is to develop a solution that enables particularly short charging times and meets the high technical requirements of electrified heavy goods vehicles.
The concept development focuses on an immersion-cooled high-performance battery with an integrated battery management system (BMS) that includes both single-cell monitoring and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). This combination allows precise real-time analysis of the battery condition and ensures efficient thermal management – essential for reliability, safety and performance under demanding operating conditions.
The aim is to build a battery system in an electric truck that provides energy for a range of up to 450 kilometers within around 15 minutes – supported by charging capacities of up to 3 megawatts.
