Company Appointments
Aseana (LSE: ASPL), a property developer listed on the London Stock Exchange, is pleased to announce an appointment to the Board and the appointment of an adviser to the Company.
Appointment of Director
Further to the announcement made by the Company on 2 January 2025 appointing Mr. Leong Kheng Cheong ("KC") as Chief Executive Officer of the Company, KC has now been appointed as a director of the Board with immediate effect.
Appointment of Adviser
The Company is pleased to also announce the appointment of John William M Beveridge as an adviser to the Company. John will play a key role in facilitating and advising the Company on the re-opening of the Sandakan hotel, including the evaluation of hospitality brands, overseeing its pre-opening and driving synergies with RuMa Hotel's current operator.
John, a British citizen aged 69, is a seasoned hospitality professional with over 40 years of international experience, including 34 years with Hyatt International. His expertise spans hotel operations, food and beverage management, and leadership in luxury properties. Throughout his career, he has held multiple senior positions, including Area Director in Dubai and General Manager of Park Hyatt Mallorca, General Manager of the Brunei Palace operations and he has spearheaded notable luxury hotel openings for the Hyatt Group.
Prior to Hyatt, he held culinary and operational roles across prestigious establishments in the Middle East, Africa, the UK, and the US.
He was conferred the Seri Liala Jasa title by His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei and the Dato title by His Majesty the Sultan of Pahang, Malaysia. He was awarded the Jay Pritzker Prize for Leadership, recognising his leadership excellence in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
Post-retirement, John continues to serve as a non-executive director with the Ormond Hotel Group in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
John's career reflects a legacy of operational excellence, leadership, and dedication to the global hospitality industry.
The Company is extremely encouraged with John's appointment. He has a longstanding leadership and a proven track record in delivering operational excellence within the global hospitality arena and the Board of Aseana is confident he will contribute immensely to the Company's turnaround journey.
