Large scale HELITEM[TM] survey to commence 1[st] March
Field work at the Rookwood copper/zinc/silver project, 100% owned by Fitzroy Resources Ltd (ASX:FRY) is about to begin after a significant improvement in ground conditions following the heavy rain which affected access early in the year.
The initial field programs at Rookwood, in central Queensland, are highlighted by a wide reaching regional airborne HELITEM[TM] survey which will significantly advance the project.

Regional surface geochemical sampling and diamond drilling at the edges of the known Develin Creek copper‐zinc‐silver resource ‐ with associated downhole Electro‐ Magnetic (EM) surveys ‐ will be undertaken to enhance understanding of the resource margins and identify possible resource expansions.
A 2,800 line‐kilometre HELITEM[TM] survey will start on March 1[st] over much of the Rookwood project (Figure 1). The survey, to be carried out by Fugro Airborne Surveys, is the first to be completed over the Rookwood Volcanics, which host the 1.75Mt copper‐zinc resource at Develin Creek. HELITEM[TM] is the most advanced of the airborne EM techniques and gives the company the best chance of identifying new targets at depth for further exploration. Previous petrophysical measurements on the massive sulphide from Develin Creek (Figure 2) confirmed high conductance, which suggests that similar bodies, away from Develin Creek, will be visible to HELITEM[TM] . It is expected that the survey will be completed in 10 flying days and the data will take around 3‐4 weeks to process and interpret following acquisition.
Diamond drilling is scheduled to start in late February with 2 holes planned on the edge of the Develin Creek resource. The primary objective of the drilling is to use the holes for downhole EM testing. The holes will be located to maximize the opportunity for the downhole EM to identify additional mineralised positions at depth and away from previous drilling. Local contractor AED Drilling has been contracted to do the drilling and will soon be mobilizing equipment to site. The downhole EM will commence as soon as possible after the completion of the drillholes.
The third focus is the immediate start of regional surface geochemical sampling designed to generate new exploration targets for later testing. The program will continue through the year and will start on the northern part of the project where mineralisation is known and will be expanded to other areas guided by the recent re‐ interpretation of aeromagnetic data. Assaying will be initially by a field portable XRF machine with control samples taken regularly and submitted for conventional multi‐ element assay.

ABOUT FITZROY :
Fitzroy Resources Ltd is an Australian based mineral exploration company, with two significantly underexplored Queensland base metals projects.
Fitzroy’s main focus is to rapidly evaluate the Rookwood project, containing the promising Develin Creek Resource (estimated 1.75Mt @1.7% Cu, 2.1% Zn, 8.5ppm Ag and 0.24ppm Au). Typical VHMS prospects such as Rookwood, often contain multiple ore systems, with Develin Creek the first system discovered to date in this terrain. Rookwood contains significant potential for the discovery of substantial copper/gold deposits beyond the existing resource.
The smaller Glentanna project, to the south, remains in the early exploration stages, with previous drilling suggesting strong potential. Focus on this project will include further first pass geophysics and drilling.
COMPETENT PERSONS STATEMENT :
The information in this document that relates to Mineral Resources has been compiled by Ms Fleur Muller. ABOUT HELITEM[TM] :
Fugro’s HELITEM™ system is the world’s most powerful helicopter time‐domain electromagnetic system. The high power of HELITEM™ coupled with its’ unique low noise receiver ensures the greatest depth of exploration of any airborne EM system.
