ISSUE OF ordinary shares

Schroder Asian Total Return Investment Company plc ("the Company") announces that it has issued 100,000 new ordinary shares of 5p each under its block listing facility at a price of 477 pence per share on 19 May 2021.

Following this share issue, the Company's issued share capital consists of 106,244,651 ordinary shares of 5p each. There are no shares held in treasury. Accordingly, the total number of voting rights in the Company is 106,244,651.

The above figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the Financial Conduct Authority's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
