US Tax Refund

Empyrean Energy plc (EME: AIM) ("Empyrean"), the oil and gas development company with interests in China, Indonesia and the United States, advises that the Company's United States tax advisors recently submitted Empyrean's federal tax return with the United States Internal Revenue Service ("IRS") for the 31 March 2020 financial year. The Company anticipates a tax refund of US$357,702 to be received during March 2021, representing corporate alternative minimum tax credits.

The Company will advise once these funds have been received.
