Update re: Annual General Meeting

Empyrean Energy plc ("Empyrean or Company"), the oil and gas development company with interests in China, Indonesia and the United States, provides a reminder that the Annual General Meeting ("AGM") will be held on Tuesday 22 September 2020 at 10.00 a.m. as a closed meeting.

For further details shareholders should refer to the Notice of Meeting which, together with the Annual Report & Accounts for the year to 2019, was posted to shareholders on 28 August 2020 and is available on the Company's website at www.empyreanenergy.com.

As advised in the Notice of Meeting, in light of current UK Government guidance on social distancing and public gatherings, attendance at the AGM in person will not be possible this year and shareholders, or their appointed proxies (other than the Chairman of the AGM) will not be permitted entry to the AGM.

Empyrean provides a reminder that registered shareholders can submit questions in advance of the meeting by email to enquiries@empyreanenergy.com and responses to these queries, where appropriate and in accordance with the regulations, will be uploaded to the Company's website prior to the commencement of the AGM, as detailed in the Notice of Meeting.

The results of the AGM will be announced as soon as practicable after the conclusion of the meeting.
