United Utilities appoints Independent Non-Executive Director

United Utilities Group PLC announces the appointment of Doug Webb as a non-executive director with effect from 1 September 2020. On appointment, Doug will become a member of the Company's Nomination and Audit Committees.

United Utilities' Chairman, Sir David Higgins said:  "Doug has extensive career experience in finance, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse and has held several roles as CFO of listed companies. Additionally, his experience as a non-executive director and audit committee chair will strengthen the Board's financial expertise. We are delighted to appoint him as a non-executive director."

Doug will also be appointed as a non-executive director of United Utilities Water Limited with effect from 1 September 2020. Doug currently serves as a non-executive director and audit committee chair at Johnson Matthey plc. He served as a non-executive director and chair of the audit committee at SEGRO plc until 2019 and CFO at Meggitt plc from 2013 to 2018 prior to which he was CFO of the London Stock Exchange Group plc and QinetiQ Group plc.

There are no further details to disclose under paragraph 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules in relation to Doug Webb.
