Filing of Initial Accounts

Utilico Emerging Markets Trust plc (the "Company") announces that today it filed audited Initial Accounts at Companies House for the period from 7 December 2017 (the date of incorporation of the Company) to 31 May 2018.

The requirement for the Company to file Initial Accounts arises in order to allow the Company to pay dividends and buy back shares. 

As set out in the Company's prospectus dated 23 February 2018, a merger reserve was created in the books of the Company following the acquisition of all of the shares of Utilico Emerging Markets Limited on 3 April 2018 pursuant to the Scheme of Arrangement.  Part of the merger reserve was utilised to create a capital redemption reserve.  Following the High Court of England and Wales approving the Company's application in May 2018 to cancel this reserve a special reserve has been created which, together with the Company's other distributable reserves, can be used to pay dividends and buy back shares.
