SPECTRIS plc: Director Declaration

In accordance with paragraph 9.6.14R of the Listing Rules, Spectris plc announces that Bill Seeger, Non-Executive Director, has been appointed Senior Independent Director of Smiths Group plc ("Smiths") effective at the close of Smiths' AGM on 14 November 2018, subject to his re-election as a director by shareholders at that meeting.

Mr Seeger will continue in his current role as chairman of the Smiths remuneration committee and a member of the Smiths nomination committee.

Smiths Group plc is listed on the London Stock Exchange.
