The Board of Gabelli Merger Plus+ Trust Plc ("the Company") announces today that Director Paolo Vicinelli will not stand for re-election at the Company's 2018 AGM.  Mr. Vicinelli remains a Portfolio Manager of the Company.  The Chairman and fellow Directors thank him for his support and guidance since the Company's incorporation.

The Board believes that while its remaining Board offers significant relevant strengths for shareholders, concurrently the Company's Nomination Committee are undergoing a search for additional candidates based in the U.K.
