TRADING UPDATE

Ahead of its Annual General Meeting later today, Spire Healthcare Group plc (LSE: SPI), the major UK independent hospital group, provides the following update for the period 1 January 2018 to 23 May 2018.

The Group reiterates the full year 2018 guidance set out in our Full Year Results Announcement on 2 March 2018.

As noted at that time, market conditions for the start of the year remain challenging. However, revenues to the end of April are in line with expectations, and are characterised by good self-pay growth, PMI revenues slightly down and a decline in NHS revenues resulting from volume reductions and tariff effect (to 31 March).

In accordance with previous guidance, these current revenue trends, combined with the significant extra investment in both Clinical quality and enhancements to our private payor proposition, will result in a reduction in H1 EBITDA relative to 2017, with the Company continuing to expect H2 2018 performance to compensate.

We expect to announce our results for the six months ending 30 June 2018 in September 2018.
