Change to Mediclinic's nominated Non-Executive Director

The Company has received notification from Mediclinic Jersey Limited, Spire's principal shareholder and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mediclinic International plc, that its nominated Non-Executive Director to Spire's Board, Danie Meintjes, will not stand for re-election at the Company's annual general meeting on 24 May 2018 (the 2018 AGM).

Mediclinic Jersey Limited has nominated Dr Ronnie van der Merwe to replace Danie, and he will be appointed a Non-Executive Director from the conclusion of the 2018 AGM. 

Notes:

(1)  Under the terms of the relationship agreement between the Company and Mediclinic Jersey Limited dated 22 June 2015, Mediclinic is entitled to nominate for appointment one Non-Executive Director to serve on the Board of the Company.

(2)  Danie Meintjes will be retiring as Chief Executive Officer of Mediclinic International plc by no later than 1 August 2018 and Dr Ronnie van der Merwe is Mediclinic International plc's chief executive officer-designate.
