The Board of Direct Line Insurance Group plc ("Direct Line Group" or the "Company") announces that Andrew Palmer, Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit and Investment Committees, has decided, after serving on the Board for seven years, to step down at the conclusion of the Company's Annual General Meeting on 10 May 2018. He will, therefore, not be submitting himself for re-election at that time. An announcement about Andrew's successor as Audit Committee Chair will be made in due course.

Mike Biggs, Chairman of Direct Line Group, commented: "Andrew has made an immense contribution to the governance of Direct Line Group since before the flotation in 2012 as a Non-Executive Director, Chair of the Audit and Investment Committees and, for a period, acting Senior Independent Director. His diligence and energy have been invaluable in helping the Board and senior management to deliver excellent results for shareholders and customers. He leaves the Board with our best wishes for the future."
