With great sadness, the Board of Directors of The Navigator Company wishes to express its deep sorrow for the death of Pedro Mendonça de Queiroz Pereira, late last night. He was the Group's main shareholder and the chairman of the Board of Directors.

Pedro Queiroz Pereira was a leading force in Portuguese industry, with rare human and professional qualities and a remarkable business spirit, with which he developed the corporate group where this company belongs. His unique leadership style was shaped by the highest management standards, which provided the expansion and internationalisation of the group in a sustainable way.

More than a business empire, Pedro Queiroz Pereira leaves a sense of strength and important values. These can be seen in the robust corporate structure and organised professional leadership, committed to proceed on its current path and, above all, in values such as courage, independence, straightness and honesty with which he always managed his companies that he leaves as a legacy to all of Navigator's workforce of more than 3000 employees.

For this Board of Directors, it was a privilege and a learning experience to work with Pedro Queiroz Pereira.

This is a time of mourning for his family, in what they are joined by this Board of Directors and the whole group, paying the sincere tribute that is owed to him.
