Director Retirement

Empyrean Energy (EME: AIM), the oil and gas development company with interests in China, Indonesia and the United States, has been advised by Mr Frank Brophy of his retirement from the Board of the Company, effective 31 December 2017.

The Board wishes to extend its utmost gratitude to Mr Brophy for his invaluable contribution to the Company over the past 12 years and wishes him well in the future.

Empyrean CEO Tom Kelly commented, "Mr Frank Brophy, my dear friend and colleague, whom I hold in the highest esteem, both in a professional and personal capacity, is leaving Empyrean in great shape. Frank has been a loyal pillar of stability and selfless support to myself, the Board and the Company ever since Empyrean's inception over 12 years ago. He has always put the interests of the Company and its shareholders at the forefront of his decisions as a Director and has fulfilled his role with honesty and integrity. Frank's skills, experience and technical acumen have played a role in every hydrocarbon discovery that Empyrean has been involved in, but more importantly the very same attributes have guided Empyrean away from countless hydrocarbon exploration projects that in hindsight have ultimately been barren. Frank is a gentleman in the true sense of the word and his sage advice and wonderful approach to passing on his knowledge to friends, colleagues and strangers alike will be sorely missed. Empyrean thanks Frank and I personally thank him and hope that the Company and I can continue to engage and draw upon his experience in some capacity into the future"
