Court approves Ian Paterson settlement

Further to the announcement on 13 September 2017 regarding the settlement of all known claims against Spire Healthcare relating to the actions of the disgraced former consultant Ian Paterson, Spire Healthcare can confirm that the Court Order putting this agreement into effect has today been approved by Mrs Justice Whipple in a hearing in the High Court at the Royal Courts of Justice. 

The approved Order brings to a conclusion all current and known claims from patients against Spire Healthcare and its co-defendants, and will result in the establishment of the Ian Paterson (Liability to Private Patients) Compensation Fund which, in addition to providing compensation in relation to known claims, will be available to compensate any further patients who notify a claim prior to 30 October 2018.
