GENERAL TEXT AMENDMENT -

CHANGE TO VOTING RIGHTS AND CAPITAL FIGURE

The following amendment has been made to the ' SSE plc - Voting Rights and Capital' announcement released on 31 March 2017 at 1749 hrs under RNS No 2604B.

As at 31 March 2017, SSE plc's capital consists of 1,015,586,820 ordinary shares.

All other details remain unchanged.

In conformity with the Financial Conduct Authority's ('FCA') Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6.1, we would like to notify the market of the following:

As at 31 March 2017, SSE plc's ('the Company') capital consists of 1,015,586,820 ordinary shares.  Each ordinary share carries the right to one vote in relation to all circumstances at general meetings of the Company.  The Company does not have any ordinary shares in treasury. 

The above figure (1,015,586,820) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in the Company under the FCA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
