LIONTRUST ASSET MANAGEMENT PLC

Update on the Acquisition of Alliance Trust Investments Limited

On 15 December 2016, Liontrust Asset Management Plc ("Liontrust" or the "Company"), the specialist independent fund management group, announced that the Company had entered into a conditional share purchase agreement with Alliance Trust Plc to purchase the entire issued share capital of Alliance Trust Investments Limited for a total consideration of up to £30 million (inclusive of the net asset value of ATI and up to £3 million of deferred consideration) (the "Acquisition").

Liontrust further announces that the Acquisition completed on 1 April 2017, adding £2,518 million to assets under management.

Trading update

Liontrust will issue its trading update for the financial year ended 31 March 2017 on 5 April 2017.
