HELICAL'S 25 CHARTERHOUSE SQUARE RECEIVES STAMP OF APPROVAL WITH 12,195 SQFT LETTING TO ANOMALY

-SMITHFIELD LETTING ACHIEVED IN SAME WEEK AS MAJOR REFURBISHMENT COMPLETED-

Helical plc, one of London's leading property developers, has agreed its first letting to global marketing agency Anomaly - www.anomaly.com at its recently completed 38,355 sq ft development at 25 Charterhouse Square, London EC1.

Anomaly has taken the top two floors comprising 12,195 sq ft within the newly positioned office building, securing a 10-year lease at a headline annual rent of £75.00 psf.

Anomaly has offices located in Los Angeles, New York City, Toronto, Amsterdam, Shanghai and London. One of Anomaly's notable accolades is having recently been voted "Agency of the Year" by Ad-Age in 2017.

Helical acquired the long leasehold interest of 25 Charterhouse Square in 2015, where it undertook a major refurbishment under the design direction of Buckley Gray Yeoman Architects to increase the size of the building through the addition of a new sixth floor, including a new core rationalisation and newly modelled entrance lobby. The scheme provides 38,500 sq ft of high quality and design infused offices, together with 5,138 sq ft of retail / restaurant space.

During the building's redevelopment, Charterhouse Square, situated directly opposite the property, underwent a major landscaping upgrade, further improving this historic area of Smithfield, whilst works on the new Elizabeth line and Farringdon station, located across the road from the building, are due to be completed in 2018.

Gerald Kaye, CEO of Helical, said: "The letting to Anomaly shows the strong demand for top quality space in this terrific EC1 location overlooking Charterhouse Square and adjacent to the Farringdon East Elizabeth line station. It also provides further evidence of Helical's ability to understand what London's leading companies want and deliver the right environment for businesses to thrive in."

Carl Johnson, Founder and Global CEO of Anomaly, said: "Our business is built on our culture, ethos and talent within the highly competitive world we live, where the work environment is especially important - in fact, crucial to our success.

"This wasn't simply about just leasing a building - this was a strategic move by Anomaly as a declaration of our intent to lead our creative industry.

"For us, 25 Charterhouse Square is located within the heart of Smithfield, arguably one of London's greatest historic former industrial districts, but more recently hosting some of the supreme companies on the world stage, so we like to think we will feel right at home here."

Helical's joint letting agents are Knight Frank and Ingleby Trice, whilst Anomaly was advised by Colliers International.
