CHANGE OF AUDITOR

28 July 2016 - Spectris plc ("Spectris") (LSE: SXS), the productivity-enhancing instrumentation and controls company, today announces that the Board of Spectris intends to appoint Deloitte LLP as its auditor following a comprehensive and thorough competitive tender process. The appointment will be effective for the 31 December 2017 year-end and is subject to shareholder approval at the next AGM, due to be held in May 2017.

KPMG has been the Group's auditors since 1998 and the Board would like to thank them for their contribution and dedication over the years. We look forward to a constructive and professional relationship with Deloitte in the future.
