TRANSACTION IN OWN SECURITIES

Severn Trent Plc ("Severn Trent") announces today that it has purchased the following number of its ordinary shares of 97 17/19 pence each ("Ordinary Shares") on the London Stock Exchange from Morgan Stanley & Co. International PLC. Such purchase was effected pursuant to irrevocable instructions issued by Severn Trent to Morgan Stanley & Co. International PLC on 30 November 2015, as announced on the same day:

Price per Ordinary Share:                               £21.1057

The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares.

Following the above transaction, Severn Trent holds a total of 4,136,921 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 235,205,960 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).

Further to the announcement made on 30 November 2015, the irrevocable purchase programme entered into with Morgan Stanley & Co. International PLC (the "Programme") has been completed today in accordance with its terms. As at today's date, a total of £19,938,055 of shares have been repurchased under the Programme, bringing the total amount of shares repurchased by the Company since its announcement on 13 February 2015 to £110 million.
